Today Truett and I visited Merry Jennifer, Sam, Maddie and Oliver. We took 5 bags of sandbox sand for Maddie's green frog sandbox we gave her for Christmas. Sam dropped the first 50 lb. bag of sand in the frog and grandaddy slit the bag open with his knife and the sand spilled like sugar into the frog. Maddie let out a squeal of excitement. So for thirty minutes or so I played with Maddie in the sandbox. She taught me how to make watermelon and macaroni. Did you know you have to twist your fingers rapidly to make watermelon? Plus, you'd better do it just right or you will be reprimanded by Madeline Kate Markham. Furthermore, we covered our hands and feet and Maddie danced on the top of the sand. We drew pictures of mommie and daddy and Fritz. Maybe her mom will post a picture of the frog sandbox.
Before we left Truett wanted a hug from Maddie, in exchange for opening a bag of cookies, which she also told him how to do that. So Maddie gave grandaddy a hug and she pulled away and stated, "I'm too big for that!" It's fascinating watching her grow and seeing how her mind and vocabulary expand. What a cutie.
