It has taken me days before thinking about using the "free" internet service here. At the present time our Marriott hotel is without water due to a city broken water line. The banquet is two hours away so the important question is...where will we have our dinner? Not here, that's for sure. I must say that Charlotte is one of the prettiest cities I've ever been to. It is a "must-see city". More about that later.
On the drive up Truett and I took a detour out to Tybee Island in Savannah, Ga. It has changed tremendously in 30 years. Actually, we got excited about the possibility of going to Tybee Beach instead of one of our Florida beaches. More about that later.
Okay. On the way to Charlotte I watched for extraordinary sites of interest or "fun" things to blog about. All of these things I recorded in a notebook which happens to still be in our car and not with me. Here goes. We drove upon a silver shiny semi that had a rubber chicken strapped to the back to the truck. That made the 8 hour ride more interesting, keeping my eye on the chicken. Just as we passed that semi, the truck driver had taped a sign on the lower half of his driver's side window which read, "Show me your hooters."
We laughed and considered the possibility of me raising my teeshirt and showing him mine, knowing he would either run off the road from fright or swerve into us trying to figure out what he had just seen. I think he'd better be careful of what he wishes for.
We'll be home tomorrow night, thank goodness. Signing off now.
That's a hoot! (Did I say hoot?)

Sounds like an interesting ride - can't wait to hear more about it. Glad you'll be home soon!
