This is a view from my kitchen window. Holly and Spanish moss. I suppose the robins will come soon to eat what's left after the squirrels get done. It's always fun watching the robins and their fat little bellies. Some get so full on holly berries they can hardly lift off the ground.
Yes, it is Christmas Eve. Our Christmas tree is on the dining porch. Really, it is the perfect space for the tree for a warm Christmas season. Tomorrow will only be about 65 degrees and that's a little nippy to sit on the dining porch and open presents. We could bundle up, but that would be too sensible.
Next year I've promised to put the tree in the house. It seems we're not in the Christmas spirit because the tree is separated from us. But I was smart this year. With Roger and Punky chasing, climbing and wrestling, I knew the ornaments would topple off the Christmas tree, and maybe even the tree would topple as well. The dining porch is definitely off-limits to cats.
We've got a couple of things to buy including Cinderella panties, (and no, they're not for me), presents to wrap, a roast to marinade and onions to chop. We let go of the traditional turkey and ham Christmas dinner years ago and we just have a good old Sunday dinner. As Maddie says, "This is good food, Mommy."
So to end, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and peaceful new year.
I like the photo of the moss and holly, good contrast.
