Everything around here is wet. Last night we had quite an electrical storm to the northwest of us that was as brilliant as Fourth of July fireworks. Since TS Fay left, north Florida has returned to its daily heat, high humidity and storms. The trees and ground are soaked and these mushrooms stand as congregations in the yards.
Hey, speaking of getting soaked, Truett and I went to the Florida/Hawaii football game today (Go Gators!) and on the drive to Gainesville we discussed the weather.
"Is it supposed to rain?" Truett asked.
"Yes."
"Do you know what the chance of rain percent is? Is it 20 percent or 50 percent or what?"
"Well, it will rain this afternoon," I said.
W-R-O-N-G!!! It was a 100 percent chance of rain just as we sat down in our stadium seats at 12:30 p.m. You would think as adults we would have know to take a rain poncho. W-R-O-N-G again! Therefore, we got drenched. I know my wet tee shirt stretched twice as large, as well as my shorts. The rain only lasted about twenty minutes and my shorts are still wet at 7:00 p.m. I'm just wearing them now to prove my point.
Also the photographs I showed you last week of the Santa Fe River choked with Hyacinth and a later photograph of the Hyacinth floating down the river, well the High Springs Hearld published an article about it after my post about it. water hyacinth Now I'm thinking that since I was so quick to cover the news, maybe I should apply for a job at the Herald when I retire.
Have a super Labor Day weekend.
We forgot our ponchos, too. I didn't even think to look at the weather forecast....I was just excited that football season was starting up. Luckily, we didn't get as wet as you two did since we stayed inside while it rained. Good game, though. It's a nice way to start the season.

I think writing for a newspaper would be the perfect job (hobby) for you... freelance of course so there would be no hours, no deadlines, just submit when you want - just like your blogging.
