Spot is still around. I can't remember his kitten name because I thought this cat would be long gone by now. So now his name is Spot.
Look at Spot stretch. I should follow his lead. I bet I would be limbered up for the day.
Oh, I'm watching Spot because this cat likes to tinkle in the sand in the fire pit. But no more, Spot.
One sure fire way to keep a cat away from a fire pit is to build a fire, and that's what we did last night.
Since it was a rainy, dreary afternoon Truett lit the first fire in the fire pit and we sat around it for an hour at least ,watching the flames flicker and dance.
Then Truett decided to get silly. "Give me a mean look, Truett. There you go."
Now that look is attractive, don't you think?
But this is my favorite look.
Even Clay joined us in the cook shed and we all talked about roasting marshmallows and hot dogs over the fire and how nice it will be to sit around the fire in the fall season.
Because there was a nice breeze last night, we experienced no mosquitoes. Just a quiet family night around the fire pit.
And I have to thank Spot for peeing in the fire pit or we would never have lit a fire so early in the year. Surely, he won't use the fire pit as his litter box now. After all, he's got 23 acres to do his business in.
