This is a view from Mom's room at Shands Cancer Hospital. This is where my mom has been since Sunday.
This is the fountain of Hope outside the hospital.
Today Mom was coming home and everything was all set. . .a couple of prescriptions to purchase, arrangements for a physical therapist to visit Mom for a "safe house eval" (love the lingo), a new walker for Mom to use that Medicare will pay for (Thank you! Thank you! Thank you Medicare!)
But then about 4:00 p.m.Mom tells me about things she saw on the wall last night while trying to fall asleep: pirates fighting and wild teenage girls who were chasing her. Then she said, "Now I see those pine cones and holly and bows all around that photograph. Do you see it?"
So, needless to say, Mom was hallucinating so she did not come home from the hospital today.
I texted Merry Jennifer about Mom's status, and she came over to check on Mom, as a concerned granddaughter. Decisions were made and hopefully, fingers crossed, Mom will come home tomorrow around noon. By then maybe the meds won't be messing with her mind.
