Yesterday I took my mom to the Speech and Hearing Clinic at the University of Florida. I have been looking forward to this doctor appointment for months. It had nothing to do with cancer. It had nothing to do with my mom being sick in any way. I call it a "Well Being" appointment.
For one thing, my mother wears hearing aids, but her hearing loss has gotten worse. When she bought her hearing aids five years ago she could only afford the cheapest. . .and we all know we get what we pay for.
Furthermore, if Mom and Truett are both in the house I can hear squealing from the back bedroom when Mom turns her hearing aids up and I can hear squealing from the living room if Truett is turning his hearing aids up at the same time. Not to mention the squealing from Maggie who wants out of her pen or the squealing from Lily after Roger smacks her across the nose.
Squealing!
My life is filled with squealing.
Mom's appointment went well until. . .well, until the doctor told her the cost of new hearing aids. Then Mom let out an "Aaaaaaaah!" It took me about five minutes to remind Mom that Truett and I are taking care of her and her Social Security check and Retirement check are accumulating in the bank. Plus, she has never. . .NEVER spent money on herself.
In the end, Mama agreed to purchase new hearing aids (Praise the Good Lord for listening) and I'm thinking my life is about to get somewhat better.
In fact, I am hoping I never have to hear squealing again!
Yay!!! I hope your life is squeal-free forever!

NEVER is a long time. My Mom has had good hearing aids (although she hates to spend the $) but eventually they make bad connections and squeal. She'll look at me and say "do you hear squealing?"

Glad your mom is getting new hearing aids.
Loved the pictures. I have a lot of hummingbird vines and the hummers do love them. Of course, they enjoy the feeders I put out for them.
