I know it will be just a few days when Truett comes home from rehab.
I know my work is cut out for me when Truett comes home; but I can deal with that.
After yesterday's appointment with his neurosurgern, (a kind, gentle doctor), Truett felt enthused about recovery. He felt so good, in fact, that he took one tiny phrase, "Just push yourself and you will be back to normal."
I didn't hear that phrase, but evidentally Truett did; so he took it upon himself to try to transfer himself from the toilet to the wheelchair...without help...and he fell last night.
Today was rough for Truett because he knew he was wrong.
Shands rehab tells the patients over and over and post signs everywhere: CALL. DON"T FALL.
But Truett was feeling so good, he thought he could transfer himself to the wheelchair; and ultimately, tripped over the leg rests, and fell.
Truett will not be coming home tomorrow, but he will in the next few days; and I am giddy.
I want my husband home.
