Even though it is October 9, 2012, we had our first taste of fall weather today. This morning it was in the mid-to high 60's and it was delicious. What a relief.
I've been so busy that I don't take time to stop, look around ,and observe what is happening in my own backyard.
The pecan trees have dropped their pecans and the catalpa tree is barren of leaves, but there are many bagworm nests in my pecan trees.
The squirrels are skittering everywhere and nuts of some sort are pounding down on my carport roof. "Don't hit me!" I think.
It's time to turn the swimming pool pump off. It has cost me big bucks this summer for only three times being used by my grandchildren. Truett kept saying, " I can swim." And I kept reminding him that he couldn't walk up the stairs to the pool. Oh, well, some years you chunk the dollars into the pool.
I noticed today the Turks Cap is blooming, the red flower you might be able to see in this photograph. That's a winter bloom. So is one of my Japanese Magnolia blossoms in the front yard. I just haven't gotten to the front yard yet.
This, my friends is the path my puppies run every day of their lives. Isn't it sweet? "Hot dog, Maggie? Want a hot dog, Lily?"
After two years, I finally found the secret of getting both of my dogs out at the same time. Whew! As of today, Mom and I call them the pot-belly daschunds.
Today I noticed the "sandy mounder" hills. Hi there!
Today I finally petted the old daddy cat who impregnated all my kittens a couple of years ago. I feed him well. After all, after dropping him three rivers away and him finding his way back in five days, I kind of think I owe him. God was on his side. Thank goodness there are no more females around, except for Molly, who has been spayed.
Hi, Molly, you silly yard cat. I love you!
You are correct. Leaves are falling here in North Florida at the George Inn. Yeah, I think I will rename my place as "The George Inn". No, on second thought it might be called, "The Porches Rehabilation Inn". Invalids welcomed.
NOT!
Meanwhile, Punky and Roger still rule the house!
Love all of you out there. This is my real life!
