This is my final post about the Windstream internet problems I experienced the week after Thanksgiving. One of the most important weeks to stay connected to family and friends.
I was left to the mercy of anyone at Windstream who could connect me back on the internet. Connect me back to family and friends.
I did a lot of soul searching during the past couple of weeks. Just how important was internet connection? Why am I so addicted? I was miserable.
My IT guy was down and out. I called Windstream daily, with no results. Just "We can't find your account!" In the meantime, I knew family was posting on Facebook or possibly sending me emails. Miserable, I tell you!
I sat at the Dollar Store and watched this puppy watch his shadow and grieved over the loss of internet services. I loved this puppy. I decided I didn't need internet services anymore. All I needed was a puppy to hug. . . not yapping daschunds!
One final time, I called Windstream and reached a live human being. As I whined about how important my internet connection was to me, Lionel said, "I will get you connected. Please don't cry, Merry George".
I told him I wasn't crying (although I think I was blubbering). And then it happened. I was connected to the internet. Yes, I was. I was connected to the internet the same day I saw this sweet puppy sitting in this bicycle basket at the Family Dollar Store.
In the end, I asked Lionel where he was calling from and he said, "Pakistan."
"Pakistan! You've got to be kidding!" I blurted out. Somehow, I thought he would have said, Texas or Maryland.
"Thank you, Lionel," I said. "You've helped me get my family and friend life back. I love you!"
Lionel answered, "Merry George, you relax and enjoy your family and friends. and don't cry. Okay?"
I promised Lionel I wouldn't cry anymore.
Windstream does do a good job training their tech people on being courteous to their clients. . . that is, if you can actually reach a real person...somewhere in this world of ours.
In the meantime, I have re-named Midnight to Lionel.
