First, I want to thank the two callers this morning who woke me up at 5:00 A.M. Just as I expected, my alarm did not go off. Truett and Gary and I were off to Monticello by 7:00 and we picked up Clay. It's been two long years without me hugging my son or him hugging me.
Clay has lost about eighty pounds and he looks great. We got a breakfast sandwich at Burger King in Monticello before heading home. Clay hasn't been used to rich food and right as we got off I-10 in Lake City, he complained of a headache and asked me to pull off the road. Then he ended up up-chucking his breakfast sandwich.
"Dad, can I hug you, please?" Clay asked Truett. "Sure son," Truett answered. This was probably one of my favorite images of the day.
Clay came in and hugged my mother and then the puppies. Mom and I knew he would kiss them on the lips. He always did. I reminded him that Maggie eats fur ball throw up. "That's okay, isn't it, Maggie," Clay said.
It's feels good to have Clay home again. He has some readjustments to make. I do appreciate the "Yes, mams" he gives me and the "Yes, sir" he gives to Truett.
Welcome home, Clay!
A long awaited day has arrived!!
