Today, this New Years Eve of 2012, has been very special to me. What a great way to end a year.
First, Truett and I saw the movie, Parental Guidance. If you are between fifty and seventy, I suggest you see this movie. It was a wonderful movie and explains a lot about raising children in different generations. It was also funny, and yet, I cried at one point watching the movie. Go see it. It will do your soul good.
After the movie Truett and I picked up our grandchildren for an overnight stay.
It wasn't all roses, I'll tell you. Nope. Oliver was STILL in a mood from an I-Pad issue at home. But, we made it to Fort White to the Dollar Store where I think I threatened him that I would tear off his arm if he said, "I want to go home" one more time.
Luckily, Nana is not an evil person; but the threat was good enough.
And then I remembered the 10 point system. I can't believe it, but it is now 10:00 p.m. and the grandchildren have already earned six points. Good kids!
Gary Boiteaux's daughter, Alyssa, has been spending this Christmas vacation with him; and Gary has been a wonderful father to his daughter during this time. In fact, he took over the duties of playing hide-and-go-seek with my grandchildren this afternoon. "Thanks for wearing them out, Gary!"
I eventually bought pizza and the grandchildren ate it with Alyssa and Gary and Uncle Clay on the picnic bench out back.
Now, the grandchildren are snuggled on one single bed, Mom is snuggled on one queen-sized bed, Truett is snuggled in one green recliner, the puppies are snuggled in one puppy pen, the cats are somewhere about, and I am about to snuggle somewhere.
Happy New Year my friends!
