On Sunday, February 3rd, when our friend Mark, from Alabama, visited us, we drove to Rum Island. The trees and wetlands looked desolate. I captured reflections of barren trees in the water.
Oh, my! Today Truett and I drove to Rum Island and "spring green" leaves are bursting out everywhere.
The reflections were not of barren trees, but of "Spring Green" colors. I should have known spring is in the air. My twin told me the Sandhill Cranes are migrating North. She sees them in the fields around her area near Elizabethtown, Kentucky. That's too bad because Kentucky has a hunting season for Sandhill Cranes. I'm disappointed about that. I only saw three flying at a distance over our property this year.
Anyway, I was surprised at the reflections in the water today at Rum Island. I had no idea spring colors were bursting out.
I did see a mosquito this morning hovering outside my kitchen window. I thought that rather odd since it is only February 6, 2013. I suppose that groundhog was right.
We could be getting an early spring.
